HIT A SLUMP?

What do you do when your business isn’t doing so good; when your statistics are heading in the wrong direction?

The first thing people often do when faced with this situation, is to stop advertising and promotion, as this costs money, and money should only be spent on vital functions!

Huh?

When faced with a slump:

 

THE MOST IMPORTANT AND PRIMARY ACTION OF YOUR BUSINESS IS TO ADVERTISE AND PROMOTE!!!!

 

Advertising and promotion are the first actions which will give you more customers = more income!!!  Advertising and promotion lets people find out about your service or product so that they can become interested enough to talk to you about it. If you don’t let anyone know that you exist, and what you offer for sale, then you will never get new customers! Yes, sales people will do the selling but even sales people need prospects.

And where do you get prospects?

Right, from advertising and promotion! Someone hears about your service/product, contacts you, and your sales person then can sell the service/product. Easy peasy as my son would say 🙂

Of course, this presumes that you are in a slump because you don’t have any work on. If you are in a slump because you’re simply not doing the work you do have, that’s a different story! In that case your primary action would be to produce!

Then once you have advertised and promoted, you then will have to investigate the cause for the slump in the first place, and do a handling to change that.

In the first instance, don’t worry about the quality of the advertising and promotion. Just get some done. Once you have some going out, then you can spend more time improving the quality of it so that you can get better and better response.

I am a bookkeeper, not an expert in advertising and promotion. But I do have my own business and have experienced first- hand that this rule works!
